Nissan Xterra

Keep It Core.

Key Features
Power

No matter how you slice it, Xterra delivers. A potent 4.0-litre DOHC 24-valve V6 gives you the power to climb faster and farther, while advanced friction-reducing technologies like molybdenum-coated piston skirts keep it all moving smooth. Continuously Variable Valve timing delivers peak efficiency and on-demand power, which is important when you're towing up to 2268 kg (5000Ibs)¹. Mix it all with some serious attitude and you've got one mean machine. Go make your mark.

¹ Refer to your owner's manual or Nissan Towing Guide for specific towing information. Cargo shown for display purposes only. Nissan recommends that all loose items be secured when transported. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. Heavy loading of the vehicle with cargo, especially on the roof, will affect the handling and stability of the vehicle.

Safety

Reduce Your Risk.

Take your chances out there, not in here. Xterra is jam-packed with advanced safety features that'll be there for you in case of an unavoidable event. It includes rigorous crash testing, over 50 standard safety features, and a long list of cutting-edge technologies. All to help you avoid an accident and keep the adventure rolling.

  • Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) helps you stay on your steered path. If your vehicle begins to oversteer or understeer, VDC (sometimes known as Stability Control) compensates by reducing engine speed and/or applying appropriate brake pressure to specific wheels.¹

  • Standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) rapidly pumps the brakes during hard braking to help prevent your wheels from locking, helping you maintain steering control.

  • Xterra’s Zone Body construction helps absorb crash energy to protect the occupant compartment if the unavoidable happens. It includes front and rear crumple zones, energy-absorbing frame sidemembers and crossmembers, a reinforced body structure and bumper heights designed for compatibility with other vehicles

  • Xterra’s Advanced Airbag System (AABS) includes dual-stage supplemental front airbags that incorporate seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. The inflation rate of these dualstage airbags adjusts depending on crash severity and seat belt usage. If the front passenger seat is empty, a sensor will deactivate the bag. In addition, standard front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags are built into the seats, so they move with you.² Xterra also has standard roof-mounted curtain supplemental airbags.

  • Ready with a rollover sensor. In the unlikely event of a rollover, Xterra is poised to respond. All models have a sensor that detects an impending rollover and deploys both curtain airbags.

  • Another Nissan First. U.S. NHTSA-certified ‘Child Passenger Safety’ technicians have dedicated over 1000 hours to checking over 4000 child seat installations in Nissans. The result: An industry first, The Snug Kids Child Safety Seat Fit Guide. This guide lists child seats that fit the rear seats of Nissan vehicles, as well as offers invaluable tips on correct installation. Look for it at your nearest dealership or at nissan.ca

¹ VDC cannot prevent accidents due to abrupt steering, carelessness, or dangerous driving techniques, or any other reason. Always drive safely.

² Airbags are only a supplemental restraint system; always wear your seat belt. Even with the occupant-classification sensor, rear-facing child restraints should not be placed in the front-passenger's seat. Also, in addition to any other requirement of applicable law, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Airbags will only inflate in certain accidents; see your owner's manual for more details. Inflated airbags shown for illustration purposes only. Actual airbags deflate after deployment
